Sesame Green Beans- 10 day detox recipe

sesame green beansThis recipe is super easy to make and relies on the kick from rice vinegar and richness from sesame oil to make it shine. Crushed red pepper flakes give it some heat and the sesame seeds add texture and another depth of flavor. Give this quick recipe a try!

Sesame Green Beans
Serves 4
Total Time: 25 minutes

• 1 1/2 pounds green beans, trimmed
• 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
• 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
• 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
• 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
• 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Set a steamer basket in a large pot. Fill with enough water to come just below basket; bring to a boil. Add green beans to basket; reduce heat to a simmer. Cover, and cook until crisp-tender, about 10-15 minutes.  (I just use my rice cooker and steamer basket that came with it).  To stop the cooking, plunge the beans in cold water or ice water and then drain well.

Meanwhile, in a large bowl, whisk together vinegar, oil, red pepper flakes, salt, and sesame seeds.  Add green beans, toss, and season with extra salt if needed.
