I’ve been to BLG more times than I can count now but I will keep on going back. I love this place. I love the atmosphere, the open expo kitchen and the amazing food. The best thing to do is to go with a group and share a ton of half portions- that way you get a taste of everything. Also, if you get the chance, sitting at the pasta bar is such a great experience- you get to watch all the action. On the far left: ‘Nduja Egg Raviolo,$6 / $12. To the right of the Raviolo is the Foie Gras Tortelini,$16 / $32. To the right of the Foie are other dishes described below or in my previous blog post.
We got the Blue Marlin Crudo, $10 (above, upper left) which was so refreshing and some full flavored Grilled Prawns, $18 (above, upper right). I love the runny egg yolk in the raviolo (bottom 2 pictures above)!
The Soft Eggs and Lobster, $18 is really all it’s cracked up to be. Silky, luxurious and buttery. I won’t order it every time I go, it’s too expensive and rich, but it’s definitely worth trying at least once.
The Penne Rigate with Shrimp and Vin Santo ($11 / $22) is a hidden gem. You think penne is boring? Try this dish. One of my new favorites that I always order is the Calamarata with Raw Tuna ($20 / $40). Warm pasta, cold marinated tuna, a hint of spice- it’s awesome. Lower left: Mushroom and Taleggio Agnolotti ($10 / $20). Lower right: Cavatelli with Braised Rabbit ($9 / $18). FYI, Bar La Grassa offers gluten-free pasta!

Dishes others liked but I personally wouldn’t order again: Ricotta and Roasted Tomato Bruschetta, Marinated Pork Shoulder Bruschetta, Torchio with Peas, Fettucine Alfredo, Silk Hankerchiefs with Basil Pesto, Summer Berry Terrine
